Lessons

Adaptive Sports at Sun Peaks (ASSP) provides opportunities for people of all ages, living with a disability, to participate in adaptive snow sports and recreation programs at Sun Peaks Resort. One of the primary goals of ASSP is to allow school students with a disability experience the freedom, joy and satisfaction of skiing or snowboarding with their classmates during school PE lessons at Sun Peaks. ASSP also welcomes a high number of locals plus many out of town, provincial, national and international guests each season, with several returning to what is now known as an adaptive snowsports destination resort.

Adaptive Sports at Sun Peaks offers the following options for people with a disability who are 6 years of age and older:

  • Learn to ski/snowboard lessons for stand up skiers and riders, sit-ski lessons, 3-track lessons for leg amputees, 4-track for those with leg weakness, lessons for sight and hearing impaired, and persons with intellectual and cognitive disabilities. Persons with age related, and mental health disabilities are also welcome.
  • School program to assist students with a disability to participate in school sponsored programs.
