Adaptive Sports at SunPeaks is a non-profit organization located in British Columbia, Canada. The program provides ski and snowboard opportunities to individuals living with a range of cognitive and physical disabilities, using various types of adaptive equipment and techniques.
While our beginning focus was skiing and snowboarding, Adaptive Sports is looking into activities that will keep our students feeling exhilarated and free all year round. We strive to provide our students with the feeling of freedom, exhilaration, and independence.
Adaptive Sports at Sun Peaks runs on the power of volunteers. With over 55 volunteer instructors, we are able to provide weekly lessons to students and offer opportunities to individuals who come to the resort from all over the province, country, and world. Many of our students return year after year. Volunteer instructors receive ongoing training so they can provide the best support, and instruction to students of all abilities. Through fundraising over the years the program has a vast range of adaptive equipment. Continued fundraising efforts promote the growth of our program.
Your donation will go towards provision of adaptive equipment, sponsoring of lessons for financially disadvantaged students, plus program delivery expenses. A $500 donation provides a season lift pass for one student, $200 provides equipment rental for a student’s five lessons, and a monthly pledge of $12 pays for a student’s instruction costs for five lessons. The Adaptive Sports at Sun Peaks Program thanks YOU.
