Making the Mountain
Experience Accessible to All!

14 April 2020

Dear families, volunteers, and supporters of ASSP,

We hope this email finds you all healthy and that you are all finding some joy in spending more time with loved ones virtually or physically since the recent COVID-19 Pandemic events have unfolded over the last several weeks.

As you know, our season ended quite abruptly, but we endeavour to recognize and celebrate our season in an adaptive way this season.

While we can not be together physically, we can celebrate in spirit using the internet.

We want to recognize all the hard work of our volunteers and supporters. Next season, we anticipate the landscape of our fundraising efforts to change and will endeavor to adapt in ways that will allow us to continue to deliver professional programming to our local and destination families.

We also want to thank all the athletes in our program – you are the reason we come together and celebrate your successes on and off the ski hill. Your hard work and dedication makes us all very proud of you!

This season marked our 10 years operating as a society. We continue to see growth in our sport and while COVID-19 may set us back, we will not lose sight of our strategic goals to expand into other sports when the time is right.

Please enjoy our annual year end slideshow with photos of our local athletes, prepared by Julia Lowe, one of our dedicated snowboard instructors – THANK YOU, Julia! The Slideshow can be found here.

Our year end summary presentation with statistics that would have been presented during our festivities can be found here.

We also want your input into next season’s calendar. We ask that all volunteers and families participate in a quick 1 minute survey to help us better plan for next season (one response per student/volunteer please). Link to Survey.

Finally, we encourage you all to mark our AGM date into your calendars now with reminders. We hope to come together physically on Tuesday, 29 Sep 2020, 6-8pm, @ Henry Grube for Pizza and voting in of our new Board of Directors. Otherwise, we will hold the meeting virtually.

Feel free to reach out and connect over the summer. We’d love to hear from you!

Thank you for your continued support,

Riann Batch
