Adaptive Sports at Sun Peaks (ASSP) provides opportunities for people of all ages living with a disability to participate in adaptive snow sports and recreation programs at Sun Peaks Resort. One of the primary goals of ASSP is to allow school students with a disability to experience the freedom, joy and satisfaction of skiing or snowboarding with their classmates.
- Learn to ski/snowboard lessons for sit-ski, 3-track, 4-track, sight and hearing impaired, and intellectual and cognitive disabilities.
- Ski Buddy/Companion Program to accompany guests with a disability who do not desire/require a formal lesson.
- School program to assist students with a disability to participate in school sponsored programs.
All guests are required to purchase a membership in the BC Adaptive Snowsports (BCAS) at a cost of $45 annually. Membership may be purchased online here: http://www.disabledskiingbc.com/itoolkit.asp?pg=MEMBERS, and can be paid by cheque or credit card. The membership is valid for the entire winter. Your membership provides you with liability insurance coverage during the duration of your adaptive lesson. Please note that this membership does not include medical coverage. Membership must be purchased prior to the lesson, as you will be asked for your membership number when registering for the Adaptive Sports at Sun Peaks Program.
Membership in Adaptive Sports at Sun Peaks Society is also required of all students and volunteers at a nominal cost of $10.00 per season.
Adaptive Sports at Sun Peaks is a registered charity, not-for-profit society and relies on the generosity of contributions, sponsorship, fundraising efforts and volunteers to run our services.
